Main Skills
- Two Handed - The barbarian is going to be using two handed to smash his/her opponents to pieces. Doesn't matter what two handed weapon you use but I personally prefer a battleaxe.
- Light Armor - You need that mobility to sprint towards people. A barbarian doesn't wait for the enemies. They go for the enemies. Although the steed stone might work for heavy armor your wasting a standing stone that could be used for something better.
- Smithing - This is necessary for most people. If you're someone like me you probably don't like crafting armor because it takes too long or it's too expensive. I like to use the hard worked armor off of dead bodies like a man.
- Speech - Although this isn't really necessary it's more for roleplaying. You want to be a big tough person so using the intimidation speeches makes you more of a barbarian.
- Block - Most people would say block is a primary but I find it a secondary because block is mainly for shields. We aren't using shields. I know that half of the perks involve overall blocking even with weapons but how many times are people going to block. You're not worried about protection. You're worried about power and damage.
- Enchanting - Some people might want to do this but how many times do you see barbarians use magical stuff?
- Nord - Nord is an option for their Battle Cry that makes opponents flee. Who wouldn't want to be that intimidating?
- Redgaurd - With the racial ability of stamina regeneration 10x faster for 60 seconds this allows you to power attack more when in those sticky situations.
- Orc - I personally use orc on my profile. The racial ability of taking half damage and doing double damage for 60 seconds is phenomenal. This allows you to take on many opponents at once.
0/3/2 resembles Magicka/Health/Stamina. You could even out stamina and health but health needs more points because with the light armor your wearing and the rareness of blocking you need that extra health to stay alive longer. Also you won't be dealing with magicka. Leave that for the cowardly wizards am I right?
Factions
- Companions - The Companions are all out warriors. You belong with them.
- Stormcloaks - Stormcloaks are the barbarians of Skyrim. Be with your family and not those disciplined civil Imperials.
- Lycanthropy - Being a werewolf is nice for a barbarian. When you're just about to die turn into the beast and slaughter the opponents. Also you're already in the Companions so why not take advantage?
Make sure you are confident and prepared for a battle. Don't go in a fight 2 Draugr Deathlords with only fur armor. When in combat don't wait for the enemy to come to you. They will most likely have a bow ready and barbarians aren't patient. Go in and make them never know what hit them. Make sure when making a character to use face paint and scars to show you fight and live to tell about it. It also makes you look tougher. Hate those pesky elves? Why not kill them. Elves will be your enemy. If an elf gives you a quest decline it or find someway to kill them or betray them. Don't not help elves. Trust Redgaurds. They are your alley. Always help them and don't be a jerk and betray them.
Roleplaying
Make sure to be the center of attention. When you're going into battle with a group make sure to attack everything first. You want to be feared and honored. Also fight everything. Don't try and sneak past those wolves because you don't like fighting. Slaughter them! If anyone says something bad to you kill them or punish them in a way (without getting in trouble with the gaurds). Never take no for an answer and always have your weapon ready for battle.
